Patrick Schwarzenegger Defends Brother-In-Law Chris Pratt After Haters On Twitter Branded Him ‘Hollywood’s Worst Chris’

Haters gonna hate — but Pratt’s brother-in-law had his back.

Patrick Schwarzenegger, son of Arnold and ex-wife Maria Shriver, was recently interviewed by Variety magazine about his upcoming movie, Echo Boomers. As an aside, he was asked about a controversy that sprung up on Twitter last month about his brother-in-law, Chris Pratt.

In mid-October, filmmaker Amy Berg tweeted out a meme with 4 actors named Chris — Hemsworth, Pratt, Pine, and Evans — along with the caption, “One has to go.”

It quickly went viral and was reposted multiple times.

Many people chose Pratt as the “worst” Hollywood Chris because he had recently shunned the “Voters Assemble!” fundraiser for the Biden/Harris ticket hosted by Endgame and Infinity War directors, the Russo brothers. The event featured several of Pratt’s fellow Marvel stars: Chris Evans, Don Cheadle, Scarlett Johansson, Mark Ruffalo, Paul Rudd, and Zoe Saldana, along with the aforementioned Russo brothers, and Vice Presidential candidate Sen. Kamala Harris (D-CA) for Q&A and trivia. Pratt’s name was notably missing.

Others criticized Pratt — who has been quite open about his Christian faith — for attending a charismatic church that is doesn’t toe the LGBTQ line, and, because of his overt patriotism, was assumed to be a Trump supporter. Pratt has not said that he supported Trump or Biden.

Here’s what Patrick had to say about the nontroversy…

VARIETY: I don’t know if you were paying attention to the Twitter controversy the other week, but there were debates about who is the best Hollywood Chris — and people were calling your brother-in-law Chris Pratt the worst Hollywood Chris. What did you make of that?

SCHWARZENEGGER: It’s crazy. Twitter is a junkyard, right? I mean, every day there’s something. People are calling out this person or that person, or let’s get mad at this person. People are so focused on putting other people down to make themselves feel better. It’s sad, honestly. Chris is pretty strong-boned. I don’t think anything really hits him deep down. I messaged him, and just mostly was like, “I hope you’re not taking this seriously.” I don’t really know what else to say. I think he can learn a thing or two from my dad or my mom. My dad was always adamant about not letting anybody else’s opinions mess with his drive or where he wanted to go. No matter what you’re doing in life, there’s are always going be people hating on you and wanting you to fail.

When Variety said that we could all be a bit better off if we stayed a way from Twitter a bit more often, Schwarzenegger replied, “People are hating on people, no matter what. There’s always two ways to focus on anything in life: the positive and the negative. People that focus on the negative, it shows more about them as a person.”

He’s right.

Some of Pratt’s fellow cast members from Infinity War and Endgame also came to his defense immediately after the controversy sprang up.

Robert Downey Jr. posted on Instagram, “What a world… The “sinless” are casting stones at my #brother, Chris Pratt… A real #Christian who lives by #principle, has never demonstrated anything but #positivity and #gratitude… AND he just married into a family that makes space for civil discourse and (just plain fact) INSISTS on service as the highest value. If you take issue with Chris,,, I’ve got a novel idea. Delete your social media accounts, sit with your OWN defects of #character, work on THEM, then celebrate your humanness…”

Mark Ruffalo and Zoe Saldana shared their support on Twitter.

By the way, Chris Pratt is clearly the Best Hollywood Chris.

Here are 7 reasons besides his talent, personality, and looks:

If Masculinity Is ‘Toxic’, Call Jesus Radioactive

Much of the Left loathes masculinity and they love to paint Jesus as a non-offensive bearded woman who endorses their agenda. This book blows that nonsense all to hell. From the stonking laptop of bestselling author, Doug Giles, comes a new book that focuses on Jesus’ overt masculine traits like no other books have heretofore. It’s informative, bold, hilarious, and scary. Giles has concluded, after many years of scouring the scripture that, If Masculinity Is ‘Toxic’, Call Jesus Radioactive.
